Around 45 villages in Mizoram are still without electricity or have lost their power supply, the state’s Power and Electricity Minister F. Rodingliana informed the Mizoram Legislative Assembly. The minister said the government has already started taking steps to restore electricity and connect the remaining villages under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). The information was shared in a written reply to a question raised by BJP legislator Prova Chakma during the Assembly session. The Deputy Commissioner of Champhai, Pu Mohammad Aaquib felicitated two candidates from Champhai district who successfully cleared the Mizoram Civil Service (Combined) Examination. The felicitation programme was held at the DC Conference Hall in Champhai at around 2 pm.The two successful candidates honoured during the programme were Lalhmingthanga, who qualified for the Mizoram Information Service (MIS), and Zarzoliana, who cleared the examination for the Mizoram Police Service (MPS). Despite ongoing infrastructure developments, 45 villages in Mizoram remain un-electrified or de-electrified, as reported by state Power and Electricity Minister F. Rodingliana to the state Assembly. In response to queries from opposition MLA Prova Chakma, the minister revealed that the government is taking steps to electrify these areas under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Necessary approvals have already been obtained, and three contractors have been selected for the electrification work, including two from outside the state.
