Kotak Mahindra Prime Limited (KMPL) has partnered with Tata Memorial Centre’s ACTREC to bring advanced cancer treatment technology to the Proton Therapy Centre in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The collaboration includes installation of the SDX® Voluntary Breath Hold System, a specialised tool that helps patients control their breathing during radiation therapy so that radiation targets the tumour more accurately. According to ACTREC, the system will particularly benefit patients with lung, liver, pancreas and breast cancers, where breathing movement can cause tumours to shift.
