Danone India has entered the Asia Book of Records for securing 20,911 pledges from healthcare professionals across the country to combat iron deficiency anemia (IDA), marking a major milestone in public health awareness and intervention. The record for the ‘Maximum Healthcare Professionals Pledged to Combat Iron Deficiency Anemia’ highlights a nationwide effort to promote early diagnosis, improve awareness, and encourage nutritional solutions to tackle the condition affecting millions. The achievement builds on Danone India’s ‘IRON UP!’ initiative launched in November 2025, which mobilised pediatricians, general physicians, and other healthcare professionals through educational outreach and on-ground campaigns. The IDA Pledge Campaign aimed to create a unified movement within the medical community to drive timely diagnosis and preventive nutrition practices.
Speaking on the milestone, Marketing Director Priyanka Verma said the collective commitment of over 20,000 healthcare professionals reflects the power of community-led action in improving health outcomes and strengthening India’s nutritional foundation.
In Kolkata, healthcare stakeholders have responded positively to the initiative, with growing awareness around iron deficiency and demand for preventive nutrition solutions. Industry observers note that increased engagement from doctors and consumers alike is likely to boost adoption of science-led products, positioning the city as a key contributor to eastern India’s anemia reduction efforts.
