On the occasion of the Bengali New Year, the Tripura government has taken up multiple initiatives, including the sale of fresh fish at affordable prices across various regions. The Fisheries Department has set up special outlets in Udaipur subdivision of Gomati district and Amarpur. Around 1,500 kilograms of different varieties of fish were sold at Rs 200 per kilograms, bringing relief to consumers. Festivities were also seen at Kamalti wholesale fish market in Sepahijala district, where trading continued from midnight of Chaitra Sankranti into the New Year.
